Why Upward Exists

Upward Knoxville is a Bible-centered fellowship in Knoxville where ordinary believers gather to study the Scriptures together.

We teach the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, so that God’s Word can speak clearly into our lives. Our desire is to grow in simple faithfulness, praying together, asking honest questions, and encouraging one another in Christ.

Everyone is welcome. Whether you are new to the Bible or have walked with Jesus for years, there is a place for you here to listen, learn, and grow.

How we teach

We teach the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, with context kept in view. Our aim is patient exposition, careful observation, clarity, and application that follows what Scripture says, so Christ remains central as we open the Word together.

We teach line by line and verse by verse with context in view. Scripture interprets Scripture. God’s written Word comes first, not motivational speaking or performance-driven Christianity.
